It is still clear in my memory box. It was noon back a year ago. I was back ridden on Pusrawi Hospital bed waiting in operation theater for labouring my youngest son.
Dr. Zarina was assisted by a nurse. They were busy preparing the surgery tools.
Next to me was my hubby. He was trying to calm and comforting me. The pain started come and go in frequently. I can’t stand any longer. Thus indicate the time has come closer.
Actually my hubby has never accompanied me in labour room for our last two sons. This is his first time sat next to me. It is doesn’t meant my hubby was not willing to accompany his wife till the end of labouring process, but in those days the hospital policy simply don’t allow the hubby comes along in labour room especially in government hospital.
In my second son case (Pusrawi Hospital – a private hospital), if my hubby wants to stand next to his wife, we have to pay extra charge which we were not ready at that time.
Besides, my hubby has blood sick; unable to take a look or smell on a large amount of blood. He will pass out.
Only this time my hubby has opportunity to see in live his wife labouring his beloved baby.
Thanks to Dr. Zarina actually. Even though my hubby had reminded her that we not chose the package that allow hubby stand together with wife and he has blood sick, Dr. Zarina keep insisting him to stay together.
She says, “Don’t worry about the fees. I will tell my nurse to not charge you for this one. You just listen to my advice. Don’t look down. Keep consoling your wife and keep ‘zikir’. Trust me, you not gonna pass out!”
She asked the nurse to lock the door, so my hubby unable to leave the room. And she encourages him to recite Al-Quran (suratul Ballad, Mariam, Al Ikhlas and so forth) next to my ears. Continuous reciting until the labouring time has come.
Finally, my hubby has lost his words and agreed with Dr. Zarina suggestion. Now he witnesses me in confronting all the pain on the bed. Not alone anymore…
Alhamdullilah, by hubby standing around and giving support all the time, it’s really helping me in enduring all the pains. The whole process had have become easy and under controlled. I have laboured my son in normal process and do not facing a lot of problems.
Today, my youngest baby is celebrating his first year birthday (on 10.01.2011). I glad to have you, my son. I pray for your goodness and may God bless you all the time. May you grow up as a Sholehin.
